Check the cover shape on early Prado 120 models. The factory cover changed shape across the 1KD's life and the build year on its own will not settle it. If you have an early 120, send us a photo of the cover you are taking off and we will confirm before you order.

• Check clearance if the front of your engine is not standard. Some aftermarket tensioners sit closer to the cover than the factory one. If you are running unusual pulley sizes, message us and we will confirm clearance before you buy.

This is a cosmetic and maintenance part. It replaces a non-structural cover and does not alter emissions or safety systems, so it is fine on a road-registered vehicle.

It does not extend the life of your timing belt and it is not a reason to stretch a service interval. It only makes the belt easier to look at. Replace the belt on Toyota's schedule regardless of how good it looks through the lens.

Q: Can the clear cover handle engine bay heat?

Q: Will it fit with aftermarket tensioners?
