Genuine Toyota 1KD-FTV Injector Driver 89871-25010
Brand new, genuine Toyota injector driver (EDU) for 18 code Hilux KUN26 and Prado 150, 2009 to 2015. Plug it in. No coding.
The Box Between Your ECU and Your Injectors
The injector driver is the part nobody thinks about until it fails. Toyota calls it the Driver, Injector. Most people call it the EDU. The engine ECU decides when and how long each injector should fire. The driver turns that signal into the high-voltage pulse the Denso solenoid injectors need to open. No driver, no injection. A sick driver means a sick engine, no matter how good your injectors are.
This is the genuine Toyota unit, part number 89871-25010, cross-referenced to Denso 131000-1551 and 131000-1552. Brand new, made in Japan, and brought in direct by Common Rail Cowboys, which is how we land it well under Toyota dealer pricing. Not a wrecker pull-out with an unknown history, and not a no-name copy off a marketplace.
It is the driver matched to the 295050-0460 injector, which is the 18 code injector fitted to the 2009 to 2015 Hilux KUN26 and Prado 150. If you have bought 18 code injectors from us, this is the driver that runs them.
Diagnose before you buy. A failed injector solenoid, a chafed loom or a corroded connector will set the same codes as a dead driver. Check resistance across each injector solenoid and inspect the harness between the driver and the injectors before you spend the money. If you want certainty on the injectors themselves, send them to us for a bench test.
Vehicle Compatibility
- Toyota Hilux KUN26 / KUN16 (09/2009 to 08/2015), 3.0L 1KD-FTV, 18 code injectors
- Toyota Prado KDJ150 (11/2009 to 08/2015), 3.0L 1KD-FTV, 18 code injectors
- Toyota Prado KDJ155 (11/2009 to 10/2013), 3.0L 1KD-FTV, 18 code injectors
Match the number on your unit. Your existing driver has the Toyota part number printed on the label. It must read 89871-25010. Earlier 2005 to 2009 vehicles running 11 or 13 code injectors use a different driver, so a 2009 to 2015 build date is a guide, not a guarantee. Toyota also lists this part number for 1KD and 2KD Hiace, Fortuner, Innova and Dyna in other markets. Same rule applies: check the label, or send us your VIN and we will confirm before you order.
Symptoms of a Failing Injector Driver
- Crank, no start with good rail pressure and no obvious fuel supply fault
- Misfire or rough running on one or more cylinders that does not follow the injector when swapped
- Injector circuit codes, commonly P0200 and P0201 to P0204, with the injectors themselves testing fine
- Intermittent stalling or cutting out that gets worse when the driver is hot
Drivers fail from heat, age and vibration. Water in the connectors and a swollen or tired injector harness finish them off. If your vehicle has been through flood water or has a history of injector harness problems, inspect the plugs on the driver before you condemn it.
What Is Included
- 1 x Genuine Toyota Injector Driver 89871-25010, brand new
Not included: mounting bolts, wiring or connectors. The driver reuses your factory plugs and mounting hardware.
Fitting Notes
- Disconnect the battery negative before unplugging the old driver. Reconnect after the new one is bolted in and plugged in.
- Plug and play. No programming, no coding and no injector code entry is required for the driver itself.
- Inspect the connectors. Look for green corrosion, bent pins and loose terminal tension. A new driver on a bad plug will not last.
- Clear codes after fitting and road test. If injector circuit codes return, the fault is in the harness or an injector, not the driver.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a genuine Toyota part?
Yes. It is Toyota part number 89871-25010, brand new, made in Japan and imported direct by Common Rail Cowboys.
Does the injector driver need coding or programming?
No. The driver is not coded to the vehicle or the injectors. Unplug the old one, plug in the new one, clear any stored codes and drive. Injector compensation codes live in the ECU, not the driver, so fitting a new driver does not touch them.
Will it fit my 2005 to 2009 1KD Hilux?
Only if the number on your existing driver reads 89871-25010. The early 11 and 13 code vehicles generally use a different driver part number. Check the label on your unit or send us your VIN.
How do I know the driver is the problem and not an injector?
You often cannot tell from codes alone, because an open injector solenoid sets the same injector circuit codes. Measure resistance across each injector solenoid, check continuity on the harness between the driver and each injector, and inspect the connectors on the driver for corrosion. If the injectors and harness check out and you still have injector circuit codes, the driver is the usual suspect.
Does it suit the 11 code or 13 code injectors?
This driver is matched to the 295050-0460 (18 code) injector fitted from 2009 to 2015. For earlier injector types, confirm the part number on your existing driver before ordering.
