Genuine Toyota AISIN Built Plug and Play Afterpay, Humm, Klarna, Zip Free Express Shipping AU

Genuine Toyota input speed sensor for the A340-family 4-speed automatic in the N70 Hilux. This is the transmission revolution sensor (NT signal) the TCM uses to time shifts and manage converter lock-up, and it is the usual culprit behind erratic shifting, limp mode and codes P0715 or P0717. Aisin-built genuine sensor with O-ring, plug and play, no coding required.

What It Does
  • Provides the NT input speed signal. The TCM compares input speed against output speed to time every shift and manage torque converter lock-up.
  • Fixes the classic failure symptoms. Erratic or harsh shifting, converter lock-up dropping in and out, flaring, limp mode.
  • Clears stored codes P0715 and P0717 when the sensor is the fault. A failing input sensor often mimics an internal transmission problem, so rule it out before condemning the box.
  • Genuine Aisin-built sensor. Magnetic pickup, 2-pin factory plug, direct fit to the existing harness.

Fitment
  • Toyota Hilux N70. KUN16 and KUN26, 2005 to 2015, A340-family 4-speed automatic.
  • Engine platforms. 1KD-FTV 3.0L D-4D and 2KD-FTV 2.5L D-4D, automatic models only.
  • Part number. 89411-50010, catalogued by Toyota as the transmission revolution sensor.

Input, not output. On 4WD N70 automatics the vehicle speed (output) signal comes from a separate sensor on the transfer case, which is a different part number. If your codes point at vehicle speed rather than input speed, or you are not sure which one you are chasing, SMS 0483 930 906 with your VIN and fault code and we will confirm the right sensor before you order. Manual N70s do not use this part.

What Is Included
  • 1 x genuine Toyota input speed sensor 89411-50010. Aisin built.
  • O-ring seal. Fitted to the sensor, ready to install.

Fitting Notes
  • Difficulty: easy. Single bolt retention, the sensor withdraws from the case with the O-ring.
  • Order of work: lightly oil the new O-ring before fitting, plug in, clear any stored codes, road test.
  • No coding or tuning required. Direct plug and play replacement.
  • Still playing up? If symptoms persist with a new sensor, inspect the harness and connector for chafe before condemning the TCM.

  • Buy now, pay later: Afterpay, Humm, Klarna and Zip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is 89411-50010 the input or output speed sensor?

A: Input. Toyota catalogues it as the transmission revolution sensor. It mounts on the transmission case and provides the NT signal. On 4WD N70 automatics the output or vehicle speed signal comes from a separate transfer case sensor with a different part number.

Q: What are the symptoms of a failing A340 input speed sensor?

A: Erratic or harsh shifting, torque converter lock-up dropping in and out, limp mode, and stored codes such as P0715 or P0717. Because the TCM compares input speed against output speed, a faulty input sensor often mimics an internal transmission problem.

Q: Will this fit my N70 Hilux automatic?

A: Yes, if it is a KUN16 or KUN26 with the A340-family 4-speed auto, 1KD-FTV or 2KD-FTV, 2005 to 2015. Not sure? SMS us your VIN and fault code and we will confirm first.

Q: Do I need to reprogram anything after replacing it?

A: No. Fit the sensor, clear any stored fault codes, and road test. If symptoms continue with a new sensor fitted, check the wiring and connector before looking further.

Q: Is this a genuine part or aftermarket?

A: Genuine Toyota, Aisin built, in Toyota packaging with the O-ring seal.
