HPD 4JJ1 EGR Delete Plates
CNC Anodised Alloy | 3-Bolt Offset and 2-Bolt Round | Isuzu and Holden 4JJ1-TC
The factory EGR feeds hot, sooty exhaust gas back into the intake, and on a hard-worked 4JJ1 it coats the manifold and ports. These HPD plates block that path off. They are a reliability part, not a power part: the intake stays clean, so the engine keeps breathing the way it did when it was new.
What It Does
- Blocks the EGR cooler circuit. No recirculated exhaust gas into the intake.
- Keeps the manifold and ports clean. Soot build-up is the reason most 4JJ1 intakes end up choked.
- CNC-machined anodised alloy. Sealing faces are cut flat, and the anodising survives underbonnet heat.
- Worth doing before a turbo upgrade. A clean intake is the baseline any high-flow setup is tuned against.
Fitment
- Holden Rodeo. 4JJ1-TC, 2007 to 2008.
- Holden Colorado RC. 4JJ1-TC, 2008 to 2011. Front-mount intercooler setups only.
- Holden Colorado RG. 4JJ1-TC, 2012 to 2014.
- Isuzu D-MAX. 4JJ1-TC, 2007 to 2011. Front-mount intercooler setups only.
- Isuzu D-MAX. 4JJ1-TC, 2012 to 2014.
- Isuzu MU-X. 4JJ1-TC, 2012 to 2014.
This listing is titled 2006-2014. The earliest fitment confirmed above is the 2007 Rodeo, so if you have a 2006 build, send us a photo of your EGR cooler and we will confirm before you order.
Check your flanges, not just your year. The 4JJ1 ran several EGR cooler layouts across its life and the year alone will not tell you which one you have. This set covers the 3-bolt offset plate and the 2-bolt round plate. If your engine uses the single-cooler layout, you need a different plate. Compare your EGR cooler to the listing photos before you order, or send us a photo and we will confirm it.
Which EGR Plate Do I Need
- This listing. 4JJ1-TC with the 3-bolt offset and 2-bolt round flanges, roughly 2007 to 2014.
- Single-cooler layout. Rodeo RA7 and early Colorado RC. Use the Rodeo RA7 EGR Delete Plates.
- Pre-DPF, 2014 to 2016. D-MAX and MU-X with no DPF. Use the 4JJ1 Pre-DPF EGR Delete Plates.
- DPF, late 2016 to 2020. 4JJ1-TCX with a DPF. Use the DPF 4JJ1 EGR Delete Plates.
- 4JJ3, 2020 on. Use the 4JJ3 EGR Delete Plates.
What Is Included
- HPD EGR delete plate set. One 3-bolt offset plate and one 2-bolt round plate.
Fitting Notes
- The EGR must be disabled in the ECU. A remap or an EGR delete loom. Bolt the plates on without doing this and you will get fault codes and limp mode.
- If you remove the cooler, deal with the coolant lines. Cap or reroute them as the setup requires. Our HPD billet 17mm coolant blanking plugs are made for capping them off, sold as a pair.
- Torque to OEM specification and recheck after a heat cycle.
- Some top-mount intercooler kits sit over the plate and restrict access. Check clearance before you start.
Shipping and Payment

Read This Before You Order
This is emissions hardware. Removing it is for off-road and motorsport use, and it is generally not legal on a road-registered vehicle in Australia. Compliance is your call and your responsibility, so check your state's requirements before you buy.
Fitting delete plates and retuning the ECU can affect a manufacturer's willingness to cover a later engine or emissions claim. It does not remove your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for the plates themselves, which are covered for any fault in the part as supplied.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to disable the EGR in the ECU?
A: Yes. A remap or an EGR delete loom. There is no version of this job where you skip that step.
Q: Will these fit my RA7 Rodeo?
A: Only if it runs the 3-bolt offset and 2-bolt round flanges. RA7s with the single-cooler layout need the RA7 plates linked above. The year does not settle it, the flange does.
Q: Will these suit a 2015 or 2016 D-MAX?
A: No. From 2014 the Pre-DPF plates are the correct part, and from late 2016 the DPF plates. Both are linked above.
Q: Will this make more power?
A: No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. It keeps the intake clean so the engine holds the performance it already has.
Q: Can I put it back to standard later?
A: Yes, provided you keep the factory EGR hardware. Do not throw it out.
