HPD 4JJ1 Pre-DPF EGR Delete Plates

2014 to 2016 Pre-DPF | CNC Anodised Alloy | Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X

The 2014 to 2016 Pre-DPF 4JJ1 has its own EGR cooler flange, which is why the earlier plates and the later DPF plates both miss. These HPD plates block the EGR cooler circuit on that specific setup, so soot stops accumulating in the intake manifold and ports.

What It Does
  • Blocks the EGR cooler circuit. No recirculated exhaust gas reaching the intake.
  • Prevents carbon build-up in the intake manifold and ports.
  • CNC-machined anodised alloy. Precise fit to the Pre-DPF flanges, corrosion-resistant finish.
  • Removes a restriction that matters more once you are running an upgraded turbo.

Fitment
  • Isuzu D-MAX. 4JJ1-TC, 2014 to 2016, Pre-DPF models.
  • Isuzu MU-X. 4JJ1-TC, 2014 to 2016, Pre-DPF models.

How to tell you have a Pre-DPF 4JJ1: build date between 2014 and 2016, and no diesel particulate filter in the exhaust system.

Confirm your EGR cooler flange against the listing photos before ordering. The Pre-DPF 4JJ1 flange differs from both the earlier Euro 3 style and the later DPF models. The build year narrows it down but the flange is what decides it. Send us a photo if you want it confirmed first.

Which EGR Plate Do I Need

What Is Included
  • HPD 4JJ1 Pre-DPF EGR cooler delete plate set. CNC-machined and anodised.
  • Mounting hardware. Bolts and fasteners included.

Fitting Notes
  • Difficulty: moderate. Requires EGR system removal and an ECU change.
  • Time: allow 1 to 2 hours.
  • Order of work: disconnect the battery, remove the EGR cooler assembly, clean the gasket surfaces properly, fit the plates with the supplied hardware, torque to specification, then disable the EGR in the ECU.
  • If you remove the cooler, cap the coolant lines. Our HPD billet 17mm coolant blanking plugs are made for capping them off, sold as a pair.

The ECU EGR disable is mandatory, not optional. Either a professional remap or a plug-in EGR delete cable. Without it you will get fault codes and limp mode. Talk to a qualified diesel tuner if you are not set up to do this yourself.

Shipping and Payment
  • Free express shipping Australia-wide.
  • Dispatch: orders placed before 2 PM AEST on a business day go out the same day.
  • Buy now, pay later: Afterpay, Humm, Klarna and Zip.

Read This Before You Order

This is emissions hardware. Removing it is for off-road and motorsport use, and it is generally not legal on a road-registered vehicle in Australia. Check your state's requirements before you buy.

On warranty: fitting delete plates and retuning the ECU can give a manufacturer grounds to decline a claim on emissions or engine components where the modification caused the fault. It does not wipe out your rights under the Australian Consumer Law generally, and it has no effect on your rights in respect of the plates themselves. If a dealer tells you a modification voids your entire warranty outright, that is not how the ACL works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these fit my 2015 MU-X?

A: Yes, if it is a Pre-DPF 4JJ1. Confirm the EGR cooler flange against the photos first.

Q: Will these fit a 2017 or later D-MAX?

A: No. From late 2016 the DPF-equipped models use a different EGR configuration and need the DPF plates linked above.

Q: Do I need a tune?

A: Yes. An ECU EGR disable or an EGR delete cable. The ECU expects the EGR to work, so it has to be told otherwise.

Q: Can I use a delete cable instead of a full remap?

A: Yes, plug-in EGR delete cables are a valid alternative. Your installer or tuner will know which suits your setup.

Q: Does this add power?

A: Not directly. It keeps the intake clean and stops soot from restricting airflow over time, which is worth more than it sounds, particularly on a turbo upgrade.

Q: Can I fit them myself?

A: If you are mechanically confident and have a path to the ECU change, yes. Most people book it in with a workshop that can do both parts of the job.
