Exclusions (per Direction Plus): not for 48V mild hybrid V-Active versions. On the Hilux 1GD, not compatible with the factory dual battery tray fitted after late 2024, or with battery trays that have accessories mounted to the side of the battery.

The factory filter does the bulk work. The Fuel Manager post-filter is the second, finer stage after it, catching the fine particles and traces of water that get through before they reach the pump and injectors.

Crankcase blow-by carries oil mist straight back into the intake. Mixed with EGR soot it turns into the sludge that chokes manifolds and coats the intercooler. The ProVent separates the oil out before the air goes back in.

• Protects the turbo, intercooler, intake and sensors from oil mist and soot build-up.
• Regulates crankcase pressure.

Not included: a pre-filter, or spare replacement elements. Those are sold separately.

• Both systems mount in the engine bay with vehicle-specific brackets. Fit them together or one at a time.
• Post-filter goes after the factory fuel filter. You are working on diesel fuel lines: prime the system after fitting and check every joint for weeps at idle before driving. If that is outside your comfort zone, get a workshop to fit it.
• Catch can plumbs into the crankcase breather line. Route hoses clear of heat and secure them.
• Service: drain the fuel bowl when water shows and change the element on your service schedule. Drain the catch can regularly and replace its element when due.

Does it fit the V-Active 48V models?
No. Direction Plus excludes the 48V mild hybrid V-Active versions from this kit.

Does it fit the Hilux as well?
Yes. Direction Plus lists the same kit for the Hilux 1GD-FTV 2016 to 2024 and 2GD-FTV 2018 to 2024, with the exclusions listed in the fitment section.

Do I need both?
They protect different things. The post-filter protects the pump and injectors from fine particles and water. The catch can protects the intake, turbo and EGR side from oil mist.

Can the ProVent return oil to the sump?
Yes. Direction Plus offers the option to return separated oil to the sump instead of draining it from the can.
