The right clutch for a remapped daily-driven N70. NPC start with a premium OE-quality cover and disc and lift the clamp 20 to 40% over factory, then pair it with a dedicated NPC billet steel flywheel. NPC's maximum measured figure on the dyno is 650Nm at the wheels, with smooth engagement and, in most cases, no extra pedal effort. Tune, exhaust, bigger tyres, a bit of towing: this holds it without turning the pedal into a leg press.

Rule of thumb: tune and exhaust on the factory turbo, this kit. Turbo or injector upgrade, step up to the 750. Unsure? Message us with your mods and what you tow.
Braided Clutch Line
The N70 has a hydraulic damper (accumulator) in the clutch line. Bypassing it with the NPC braided line removes fluid dampening, giving a more direct pedal and sharper engagement. NPC recommend it and so do we.
NPC note: removing the accumulator can introduce a slight pedal pulsation that the factory part normally damps. That is not a warranty item.
Fitting and Bed-In
- Fit to NPC's standard. NPC publish a fitting sheet for this kit: Fitting Sheet 4b, KUN26 Hilux, NPC8006-1B (PDF).
- Before fitting, trial the disc on the gearbox spline and check cover and release bearing height.
- The supplied billet flywheel comes machined and ready to fit.
- Inspect the fork, pivot, slave cylinder and rear main seal while the gearbox is out. See the genuine 1KD rear main seal kit.
- Bed in for 1,000 km of normal around-town driving. It is the gear changes that bed it in. No burnouts, flat changes or towing until then.
What to Expect
- Pedal: close to factory. NPC's Heavy Duty organic is built so the extra clamp comes with little or no extra pedal effort in most cases.
- Rated capacity assumes a healthy drivetrain, correct fitment and a sensible tune.
- Some setups show light gear rattle at idle with a single mass billet flywheel. Normal.
- NPC warranty excludes shudder, slip, pedal feel and harsh engagement on vehicles outside original specification, which includes tuned builds. Fit it properly and bed it in and you will not need it.

A: NPC's maximum measured dyno figure at the wheels is 650Nm. Some resellers quote 700Nm; we use NPC's own number.
Q: Is the flywheel included?
A: Yes. NPC billet steel flywheel, machined and ready to fit, plus release bearing, spigot bearing and aligning tool.
Q: Will the pedal be heavy?
A: No. This is the lightest pedal of the NPC N70 range. NPC build the Heavy Duty organic for near-factory effort.
Q: 650 or 750?
A: Tune and minor mods, this kit. Turbo, injectors or towing on a tune, the 750. The 750 also holds clamp better at high rpm in potent builds.
Q: Does it suit the early KUN26 with the 260mm flywheel?
A: Yes. The kit replaces the flywheel, so early and late N70 both use this kit.
Q: Do I need the braided line?
A: Recommended by NPC. It deletes the factory damper for a more direct pedal.
