Water in diesel kills injectors and pumps. The factory filter has its limits against water. This kit fixes that.
The Ryco RC628DPK pre-filter kit puts a 10 micron, water separating first stage between the tank and the factory filter on the N80 Hilux and Fortuner. Water and coarse contaminants get caught early, the factory filter does the final polishing, and the 1GD and 2GD fuel system sees cleaner fuel.
Designed and assembled in Australia for touring, towing, off-road use and remote refuelling.

Excludes: Mild Hybrid 48V V-Active versions. Not compatible with the factory dual battery tray after late 2024, or battery trays with accessories mounted to the side of the battery.

Fitting Notes
- Installs inline between the tank and the factory filter. It does not replace the factory filter.
- Follow the flow direction arrows, prime the system after fitting and check all clamps.
- Check and drain the pre-filter regularly, especially after remote refuelling.
- Installation by a competent person is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace the factory fuel filter?
No. It installs before the factory filter as a first-stage pre-filter, so you end up with two-stage filtration.
Will this fit my Hilux or Fortuner?
It suits the N80 Hilux 1GD-FTV 2.8L 2016 to 2025, the N80 Hilux 2GD-FTV 2.4L 2018 to 2024, and the Fortuner 1GD-FTV 2.8L 2016 to 2025.
What is the micron rating?
10 micron, with water resistant silicone coated media. Ryco rates it to remove up to 99% water and 98% particles.
Does it include a water sensor?
No. The kit is compatible with the Ryco wireless water sensor kit for in-cab alerts, sold separately.
Does it fit the V-Active hybrid?
No. Mild Hybrid 48V V-Active versions are excluded.
Will it work with my dual battery tray?
Not with the factory dual battery tray after late 2024, or with battery trays that have accessories mounted to the side of the battery.
How often should I drain it?
Check it regularly, especially after remote refuelling. Drain immediately if water is present and follow your service schedule.
