The cooler sits in line with the factory transmission cooler lines, ahead of the radiator. Hot ATF runs through a fin and plate core with internal turbulators and sheds heat before it goes back to the gearbox.

Does it fit both the 150 and 155?
Yes, per the Direction Plus fitment table: the 150 Series 1KD-FTV 2009 to 2015, and the 150 and 155 Series 1GD-FTV 2015 to 2023.

Will it fit with my bull bar?
Generally yes. Most bars and winches do not interfere, but check the cooler still gets clean airflow and the hoses are not kinked.

Do I really need a trans cooler?
If you tow, tour loaded, drive sand or work the vehicle in hot conditions, yes. Heat is what kills automatics. Even with lighter use, cooler ATF lasts longer.

How much cooler will it run?
Direction Plus quotes ATF temperatures down by as much as 33°C. Real results depend on load, ambient temperature and how the vehicle is driven.

Does it suit a manual?
No. This kit is for automatic transmissions. Manual gearboxes do not run an ATF cooler.
