1KD-FTV and 1GD-FTV | Hilux, Prado, Fortuner | 90311-95008 + 11354-30010
The two seals you need when the gearbox is out of a 1KD or 1GD: the genuine Toyota rear crankshaft oil seal 90311-95008 and the flywheel housing dust seal 11354-30010. Both are single-use parts and both get replaced together. Genuine NOK-made Viton seal with the correct lip profile and directional pattern for the Toyota crank, which is the difference between a fix and a comeback.

Rear Main Still Leaking After a New Seal?
If the seal has been done before and it still weeps, the crank sealing surface is probably grooved. A new seal cannot seal against a groove. Fit our 1KD Rear Main Seal Repair Sleeve with this seal kit and it is fixed for the life of the engine.
Pro tip: run a fingernail across the crank where the seal lip rides. If it catches, sleeve it. Do not gamble a gearbox-out job on a seal alone.
Fitting Notes
- Gearbox and flywheel out. Remove the old seal without scoring the crank or the retainer bore.
- Clean the bore and crank surface. Inspect for a wear groove before fitting.
- Lightly oil the seal lip, press the seal in square to the correct depth with a proper driver, never a screwdriver.
- Fit the new dust seal to the flywheel housing.
- Check crankcase ventilation while you are there. A blocked breather or a tired PCV pushes oil past any rear main.
- Installation by a qualified technician recommended.

Q: Is this genuine Toyota?
A: Yes. Both seals are genuine Toyota parts, new in Toyota packaging.
Q: Does the 1GD use the same rear main seal as the 1KD?
A: Yes. Toyota lists 90311-95008 for both the 1KD-FTV and the 1GD-FTV, as well as the 2KD and older 1KZ and 1H engines.
Q: Why include the dust seal?
A: It sits in the flywheel housing and is a one-use part. It costs a few dollars and saves a second gearbox-out job when it lets dirt in.
Q: My seal has been replaced and still leaks.
A: The crank is almost certainly grooved. Fit the repair sleeve with this kit.
Q: Can I do this in the driveway?
A: Gearbox and flywheel have to come out. Doable at home with the right gear, but it is a big job to get wrong.
