Fitment Table - Which Code Do I Need?

The 1KD-FTV used three injector generations. They are not interchangeable. The ECU only accepts calibration codes that match its programming.

How to check your code: unplug the connector on top of any injector and read the first two digits of the calibration number printed on the injector body. 11, 13 or 18. The most reliable method is to read the injector codes stored in the ECU with a scan tool, especially if the injectors have been replaced before.

Not sure? Add your VIN or State and Rego to the cart notes and we will verify factory fitment before we ship.

We Are Injector Specialists, Not Just a Parts Shop

We run a Hartridge Sabre CRi Expert injector test bench in house. It is the same class of equipment Denso service agents use. That means we do not just sell you a box, we understand what is inside it.

If your current injectors are borderline, we can test them and tell you exactly where they sit before you spend money on a new set.

Symptoms of Worn 1KD Injectors
  • Cold start rattle or diesel knock. The most common 1KD symptom. Worn internals cause uncontrolled fuel delivery until the engine warms.
  • Rough idle or a noticeable miss at idle.
  • White smoke on cold start, or excessive black smoke under load.
  • Poor fuel economy or a general loss of power.
  • Out of spec feedback values. Also called compensation or correction values. Read with a scan tool. Anything beyond roughly -3.0 to +3.0 is a strong indicator that set is due.

A negative value means the ECU is pulling fuel from that cylinder. A positive value means it is adding fuel to balance idle. Either way, the injector is no longer delivering what the ECU expects.

What Changed Between 11, 13 and 18 Code?

11 Code (Euro 3, 2005 to 08/2006). The original G2 Denso design. No DLC coating on the internal components, so the armature and control valve wear faster than later generations. These are considered wearing items on pre-2007 engines and are the most commonly replaced 1KD injector.

13 Code (Euro 4, 08/2006 to mid-2009). Introduced an improved upper spring and a DLC coated armature. Note there were two revisions. The early unit (095000-7030) was prone to cold knock and premature wear. We only supply the later, improved revision (095000-7780).

18 Code (Euro 4, mid-2009 to 2015). The Denso G3 design. Faster reaction time, better atomisation, and DLC coating throughout. Post-2012 units carry full DLC on both the armature and the control piston. This is the most robust injector Toyota fitted to the 1KD platform.

Running a Tune or a Bigger Turbo?

These are standard OEM spec injectors. No tune required, direct plug and play.

If you are running a 44mm, F55 or high flow VNT turbo and chasing more than stock power, you need more fuel than a standard injector can flow.

Built on genuine Denso bodies, bench tested, flow matched and individually coded in house. ECU remap required.

What Else You Need for the Install

Injectors are only part of the job.

Pro tip: code the injectors to the ECU before you fit them, ideally while still sealed in their bags, so the calibration codes are read accurately.

VIN and Compatibility Disclaimer

When you provide your VIN or rego we will confirm the injector type your vehicle left the factory with. This may not be correct if the injectors, harness or ECU have previously been changed, for example a second hand engine swap or a prior incorrect fitment.

It is the customer's responsibility to verify injector compatibility before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the injector code mean?

A: It is the first two digits of the calibration number printed on the injector. The 1KD-FTV used three generations: 11 code (2005 to 08/2006, Euro 3), 13 code (08/2006 to mid-2009, Euro 4) and 18 code (mid-2009 to 2015, Euro 4). Each is paired to a specific ECU calibration and they are not interchangeable.

Q: Can I fit a different code to my vehicle?

A: No. The ECU will only accept calibration codes that match its programming. An 18 code ECU will reject 11 or 13 code injectors, and the reverse is also true.

Q: Do these need ECU coding?

A: Yes. Every injector carries a unique calibration code that must be programmed into the ECU with a scan tool. Without correct coding the engine will idle poorly and fuel trims will be off. Code them before fitting.

Q: Do I need a tune?

A: No. These are OEM spec injectors and are a direct replacement on a stock vehicle. A tune is only required if you move to a modified +30% or +50% flow profile.

Q: Will new injectors fix my cold start rattle?

A: In most cases yes. Worn injectors are the leading cause of cold start rattle, rough idle and out of spec fuel trims on the 1KD. New Denso injectors restore correct fuel quantity and can bring correction values back into range.

Q: How long should 1KD injectors last?

A: On clean diesel with regular fuel filter changes, expect roughly 150,000 to 200,000km on 11 and 13 code, and 200,000km or more on 18 code. Fuel contamination, water or particulate, is by far the biggest killer of injector life.

Q: Are these new or reconditioned?

A: Brand new Genuine Denso. Not reconditioned, not remanufactured, not exchange. No core deposit and no core return. Normally supplied in genuine Denso packaging - boxing can vary.

Q: Should I replace the injector lines at the same time?

A: Strongly recommended. Injector feed lines delaminate internally over time. Reusing old lines risks incorrect sealing, leaks and injector and fuel contamination.

Q: Does this suit a 2KD or 1GD?

A: No. These are for the 1KD-FTV 3.0L only. The 2KD (2.5L) and 1GD (2.8L) use entirely different injectors - see our other listings or send us a message.
