How do I know if my 1KD needs the 6-pin rail pressure sensor?

All 1KD-FTV engines from August 2006 onward running 13-code or 18-code injectors use the 6-pin rail pressure sensor. Earlier engines with 11-code injectors use the 3-pin version. Check the connector on your rail before ordering.

Is this a genuine Toyota or Denso sensor?

No. This is a premium aftermarket sensor built to OE specification with the correct output curve and connector, and it is priced accordingly. It is a direct plug-and-play replacement for OE part numbers 89458-60011 and 89458-60010.

Will this fix limp mode on my 1KD Hilux?

If the cause is a failing rail pressure sensor, yes. Common symptoms of a failing sensor are limp mode under load, hard starting and erratic or unstable rail pressure readings. If actual rail pressure is genuinely low, the fault lies with the pump or injectors instead.

Does the 1KD rail pressure sensor need programming?
