Genuine Denso 294200-2960 Suction Control Valve (SCV) for the 2.4L 4N15 MIVEC diesel in the Mitsubishi Triton and Pajero Sport — the same part Mitsubishi fit from the factory. The SCV sits on the high-pressure pump and meters fuel into it to regulate common rail pressure. When it sticks or wears, rail pressure goes erratic and the whole fuel system misbehaves — it's one of the most misdiagnosed faults on the 4N15, with plenty of people replacing injectors before checking the pump and SCV first.

Symptoms of a Failing SCV

- Hard starting — especially cold
- Rough or hunting idle
- Noticeable drop in fuel economy
- Limp mode / reduced power warning
- Rail pressure DTCs: P0087, P0088, P0191, P0192, P0193
- Erratic rail pressure on live data
- Black smoke under load

The SCV threads into the side of the high-pressure pump and is accessible with basic tools. Clean the area thoroughly before removal so no contamination enters the fuel system, torque to spec, and clear DTCs after fitment. Not confident on a high-pressure fuel system? Use a diesel specialist.
