Hilux MAF Sensor - Genuine Denso

Toyota Hilux N70 | 1KD-FTV & 2KD-FTV | 22204-30010

Genuine Denso OEM 22204-30010 Suits 1KD & 2KD No Calibration Required Afterpay, Humm, Klarna, Zip Free Express Shipping AU

The MAF tells the ECU how much air the engine is actually getting, and every fuelling decision downstream is built on that number. When it drifts, the ECU is not doing anything wrong, it is just working off a lie. This is the genuine Denso sensor, the same part fitted on the production line.

Part Numbers
Type Number
Toyota OEM 22204-30010
Toyota OEM (supersessions) 22204-0L010, 22204-0N010
Denso 197400-2110 / VN197400-4000

197400-2110 is stamped on the sensor body, so you can check yours against it before ordering.

Fitment
  • Toyota Hilux N70 - 1KD-FTV 3.0L, 2005 to 2015
  • Toyota Hilux N70 - 2KD-FTV 2.5L, 2005 to 2015

Signs Your MAF Is Done
  • Rough idle or hesitation off the line
  • Poor fuel economy, or black smoke that was not there before
  • Down on power, limp mode, or MAF-related fault codes
  • Hard starting that showed up after an airbox or filter service

Check the intake first. A split intake pipe, a loose filter seal or an over-oiled aftermarket filter will all give you MAF symptoms without the sensor being faulty. Worth ruling out before you spend the money.

Fitting
  • Two screws, and no calibration or coding needed
  • Disconnect the battery before you swap it
  • Make sure the airbox is clean and the filter seal is seated properly, or you will be doing this again
  • Clear any stored codes and road test afterwards
  • Leaving the battery off for 5 to 10 minutes helps the ECU relearn faster, though it is not strictly required

Fitting a performance airbox at the same time? The Phat Bars N70 airbox uses a proven MAF location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this give me more power?

A: No. It restores accurate airflow readings. If your old one was faulty or contaminated you will feel the difference, but a healthy MAF replaced with a new one does nothing.

Q: Can I just clean my old one?

A: Worth a try with MAF-safe cleaner, and it costs you nothing. But if the element is damaged or the sensor has drifted internally, cleaning will not bring it back.

Q: Is it genuine Denso or aftermarket?

A: Genuine Denso, the same sensor Toyota fits from factory. Not a copy.

Q: Do I need to reset the ECU?

A: Not required. Disconnecting the battery for 5 to 10 minutes just speeds up the relearn.
