Land Cruiser 300 Series Post-Filter Kit - Fuel Manager

The factory filter does the bulk work. The Fuel Manager post-filter sits after it, between the OEM filter and the engine, and catches the fine particles and traces of water that get through. On a common rail engine that is the difference between an injector that lasts and one that does not. The LC300 twin turbo V6 operates at pressures exceeding 2,000 bar with microscopic tolerances.

• Particle removal down to 2 micron (nominal). Direction Plus notes some post-filter kits use 5 micron assemblies to meet fuel flow requirements.
• Clear water drainage bowl: you can see what it has caught and drain it in seconds.
• No filter bypass: if the element blocks, fuel does not route around it. Only filtered fuel gets to the injectors.

Pre-filter or post-filter? A pre-filter goes before the OEM filter and handles bulk water and dirt. A post-filter goes after it and handles the fine stuff. Plenty of touring rigs run both. If you only run one and your injectors are the worry, this is it.

Why does the Kaymar rear bar matter?
Direction Plus states the Fuel Manager filters for the 300 Series are not compatible with the Kaymar rear bar. We cannot confirm clearance with that bar fitted, so check with us before ordering.

Is this a pre-filter or a post-filter?
Post-filter. It goes after the factory filter. Direction Plus make a separate pre-filter kit for the 300 Series.

Will this restrict fuel flow?
Not when it is maintained. Direction Plus sizes the element to the engine, which is why some kits run a 5 micron assembly instead of 2 micron. A neglected, blocked element will restrict flow on any filter, so check the bowl and change the element on schedule.

Do I still need a pre-filter?
Different jobs. A pre-filter protects the OEM filter from bulk water and dirt. A post-filter protects the injectors from what gets through. Run both if you tour remote and fuel at whatever bowser is open.
