N70 Hilux Alloy Coolant Bottle and Power Steering Reservoir
HPD Billet Alloy Tanks | Hilux N70 KUN26 1KD-FTV 2005 to 2015
Factory overflow bottles and power steering reservoirs go brittle. Years of heat cycling and Queensland sun turn the plastic yellow, then it cracks and weeps at the worst possible time. These HPD alloy tanks replace both with spun and machined aluminium, finished with HPD washers and burnt blue bolts. The bay looks the part, and you stop worrying about a twenty year old plastic tank letting go on a trip.
What You Get
- HPD alloy coolant overflow bottle, cylindrical design
- HPD alloy power steering reservoir
- Lid cover for the coolant bottle
- HPD washers and Thai burnt blue bolts
- Fittings and hardware to mount both tanks
Custom colour combinations can be arranged. Message us before ordering and we will confirm what is available.
Fitment
- Toyota Hilux N70 (KUN26), 2005 to 2015, 1KD-FTV 3.0L turbo diesel
N70 only. The N80 bay is laid out differently and these will not suit it. If your truck has a relocated battery, a custom tray or other bay modifications, send us a photo before you order and we will tell you straight whether it will fit.
Install Notes
- The lower coolant hose usually needs extending to reach the new bottle position. Plan for it, or let your mechanic know before the car goes on the hoist.
- Mount both tanks and check clearance before final tightening.
- Bleed the cooling system properly after refilling. An air lock in a 1KD is not worth the shortcut.
- Top the power steering reservoir and check for leaks at full lock both ways before driving.
Straightforward for a competent DIY mechanic, but if you are not confident bleeding a cooling system, hand it to a workshop.
Care and Finish
- Anodised and polished alloy. Clean with mild soap and a microfibre cloth.
- Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads, they will dull the finish.
- Burnt blue bolts are heat treated rather than painted. The colour can soften over years of hard use, but corrosion resistance is unaffected.
HPD update their designs periodically, so parts can vary slightly from the photos.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this worth doing if my plastic tanks are still fine?
A: The alloy tanks will not make more power. You are buying durability and presentation. That said, N70 plastic tanks are a known weak point once they are ten plus years old, so replacing them before one splits is sensible rather than waiting for the roadside version.
Q: Do I really have to extend the coolant hose?
A: In most cases yes. It is a common modification and any workshop can do it in minutes, but it is better to know going in than to discover it halfway through the job.
Q: Can I buy just the coolant bottle or just the reservoir?
A: This listing is the pair. Message us if you only want one and we will quote it.
Q: Will it fit an N80?
A: No. This is N70 KUN26 only.
Q: Are these genuine HPD parts?
A: Yes. HPD Special Part Racing Shop in Thailand, imported direct.
