Most aftermarket 4JJ1 performance cams only suit the early aluminium rocker cover engines. This FuseTech intake and exhaust set is built for the DPF-era 4JJ1-TCX (the Euro 5 engine Australia received from mid-2016, plastic rocker cover, roller rocker valvetrain) and the 4JJ3 in the current D-MAX, MU-X and BT-50. Isuzu catalogues both engines on the same base camshaft numbers, which is why one set covers the pair. Revised lobe profiles run more lift and duration than the factory sticks: more air in, more exhaust energy out, stronger response and top-end pull on tuned builds.
Performance upgrade. Professional installation strongly recommended. Factory camshaft gears must be transferred onto these camshafts and cam timing set correctly. ECU tuning recommended to get the full benefit.

Quick fitment check (trust this over your build year): plastic rocker cover, DPF fitted, injector codes starting "9F" means you are in the right place. Aluminium rocker cover (2005 to mid-2016 pre-DPF 4JJ1) means this set is not for you: you want the 4JJ1 / 4JK1 pre-DPF camshaft set. Australia changed over around June 2016, so 2016 builds exist on both sides of the line. Check the cover, not the compliance plate.
Buying from overseas listings? Thai suppliers label this cam family "Euro 4" or "15-22" because Thailand switched to the plastic cover engine before Australia did. Ignore the Thai years. The rocker cover material is what matters.

A: Yes, that is exactly what this set is for. The DPF-era 4JJ1-TCX (from mid-2016 in Australia) uses a revised valvetrain (plastic rocker cover, roller rockers) that most aftermarket 4JJ1 cams do not cover.
Q: Are the DPF 4JJ1 and 4JJ3 camshafts really interchangeable?
A: Yes, at OE level. Isuzu's parts catalogue lists both engines against the same base camshaft numbers (intake 8-98228-490-2, exhaust 8-98228-493-2), with the 4JJ3 receiving later revisions of the same parts. One performance set covers both engines.
Q: Will they fit my 2012 to 2016 D-MAX?
A: No. Pre-DPF 4JJ1s (aluminium rocker cover, 2005 to mid-2016) use the earlier valvetrain and need a different camshaft set. Check your rocker cover and injector codes if unsure.
Q: My D-MAX is a 2016 build. Which family am I in?
A: 2016 is the changeover year in Australia, so check the hardware. Plastic rocker cover with a DPF means this set fits. Aluminium rocker cover means it does not. Send us your VIN if you are not sure.
