High-Quality Turbo Actuator to Suit Toyota Prado 1KD-FTV (2004–2015)

A failed 1KD turbo actuator can cause a range of drivability issues and fault codes, including P1251, P0046 and P0047, often resulting in limp mode, poor boost control or inconsistent power delivery.

This Prado 1KD Turbo Actuator is a reliable aftermarket replacement designed to restore correct VNT operation on Prado 120 and 150 Series 1KD-FTV models. It offers an excellent balance of quality, reliability and value compared to replacing the complete turbo assembly.

Each unit is individually inspected and quality-checked before dispatch to ensure consistent operation and dependable performance out of the box.

πŸ”§ Vehicle Compatibility
  • Toyota Prado 120 Series – 1KD-FTV (2003–2009)
  • Toyota Prado 150 Series – 1KD-FTV (2009–2015)

βœ… Factory VNT compatible: Designed to suit factory style VNT turbochargers fitted to 1KD-FTV engines. Always confirm your turbo part number before ordering.

⚠️ Common Symptoms of a Failed Actuator
  • Check engine light or stored fault codes (P1251, P0046, P0047)
  • Limp mode under load
  • Poor boost response or inconsistent power
  • Turbo not responding correctly to ECU commands

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fix my P1251 fault code?

P1251 is the classic symptom of a dying actuator on the 1KD. The ECU is trying to control boost via the VNT mechanism and getting no response β€” or an erratic one. Replacing the actuator resolves this in the vast majority of cases. That said, it's worth having the code confirmed as actuator-related with a scan tool before ordering, as sticky VNT vanes or a wiring fault can produce the same code.

Does this fit both Prado 120 and 150?

Yes β€” it suits both the 120 Series (2003–2009) and 150 Series (2009–2015) running the 1KD-FTV engine. The key check is your turbo part number, not the series. Match your turbo PN against the list above and you're good to go.

Is this actuator brand new?

Yes β€” brand new aftermarket unit. Every one is individually inspected and tested before it leaves us. We don't just box them up and send them out.

Do I need a tune after replacing the actuator?

No. It's a direct mechanical replacement β€” the ECU doesn't care that you've swapped it. Just clear the fault codes after installation, run the calibration procedure (key on/off cycle) and you're done. No dyno visit required.
