CRC F44 Turbo β 1KD / 4JJ1
44mm Wastegated Turbo | 25β30 PSI | 210β240 RWHP Capable
The CRC F44 is the proven 44mm wastegated turbo upgrade for tuned 1KD-FTV and 4JJ1 builds. Strong midrange, reliable high-boost performance and serious rear-wheel horsepower for towing, touring and street builds β without the fragility of a maxed-out factory unit.
What's Included
- 1 Γ CRC F44 44mm Wastegated Turbocharger with wastegate actuator
- Gasket set for turbo fitment
Key Features
- 44mm billet compressor wheel β significantly more airflow than a factory CT16V or RHV5
- 25β30 PSI reliable boost β built for sustained load, not just dyno passes
- Internally wastegated β simple, proven boost control
- 5-bolt F44 frame β suits the full range of F44/F55-pattern manifolds
- Australian stock β ships from CRC, no overseas wait
Engine & Vehicle Compatibility
- Toyota 1KD-FTV 3.0L β Hilux N70 (2005β2015), Prado 120 & 150
- Isuzu 4JJ1 3.0L β D-MAX (2008β2016 non-DPF), Holden Colorado RC, Rodeo RA7
Not a factory-position bolt-on: the F44 mounts to an F44/F55-pattern exhaust manifold, not the factory turbo location. You'll need a compatible manifold and an aftermarket dump pipe. See the manifolds below or message us with your setup and we'll spec the full combo.
Performance & Power Potential
- Boost range: 25β30 PSI (tune dependent)
- Power potential: 210β240 RWHP with supporting mods and appropriate tuning
The fuel system sets the ceiling, not the turbo. Stock injectors will run out of fuel well before the F44 runs out of air. Pair with +30% nozzles or injectors to reach the top of the power range.
Tuning required: a custom ECU remap is essential to run this turbo safely and unlock its potential.
Supporting Hardware (Build the Full Combo)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the CRC F44 a direct bolt-on to my factory turbo position?
A: No. The F44 uses a 5-bolt F44/F55 frame and mounts to a compatible aftermarket manifold (high or low mount), with an aftermarket dump pipe. It is not a drop-in replacement for the factory CT16V (1KD) or RHV5 (4JJ1).
Q: Do I need a tune?
A: Yes. A custom ECU remap is required to run the F44 safely and get the gains you're paying for. Without a tune you risk limp mode and leave most of the performance on the table.
Q: What power will I make?
A: With supporting mods and quality tuning, the F44 supports 210β240 RWHP. Your fuel system is the limiting factor: stock injectors cap you early, +30% nozzles or injectors let you use the turbo's full capability.
Q: High mount or low mount?
A: Both work. Low mount keeps weight lower and suits most street/touring builds; high mount simplifies plumbing on some setups. We stock manifolds and fitting kits for both β message us with your build if unsure.
Q: What's the difference between the F44 and the F46?
A: The F46 runs a larger 46mm compressor for more top-end airflow and a higher power ceiling, at the cost of slightly later spool. The F44 is the sharper-response option for towing and street driving.
Q: Can I raise the boost later?
A: Yes β the 25 PSI wastegate actuator upgrade lifts total boost to around 30 PSI (tune dependent) if you're running a standard 15β18 PSI actuator.
Q: Will it fit my 2016+ D-MAX?
A: Later 4JJ1-TCX (2016β2020) engines require DPF/EGR deletes and custom work. The F44 suits non-DPF 4JJ1 builds best β contact us before ordering for a later vehicle.
