The top of the N70 organic range, built by NPC to our spec for the builds that outrun the 750: +50 injectors, a big turbo, or heavy towing on serious power. NPC's Super Heavy Duty organic disc on a higher clamp NPC-modified cover, matched to the NPC billet steel flywheel, rated to 850Nm and around 500 HP at the flywheel. Still an organic disc, so it engages like a clutch and not a light switch.

Rule of thumb: if you are running our +50 injectors with a 44mm or bigger turbo, or you tow heavy on a serious tune, this is the kit. Under that, the 750 will do it with a lighter pedal. Unsure? Message us with your turbo, injectors and what you tow.
Braided Clutch Line
The N70 has a hydraulic damper (accumulator) in the clutch line. Bypassing it with the NPC braided line removes fluid dampening, giving a more direct pedal and sharper engagement. On a cover with this much clamp it is worth having.
NPC note: removing the accumulator can introduce a slight pedal pulsation that the factory part normally damps. That is not a warranty item.
Fitting and Bed-In
- Fit to NPC's standard. NPC's fitting sheet for the base kit applies: Fitting Sheet 4a, KUN26 Hilux, NPC7678-1D (PDF).
- Before fitting, trial the disc on the gearbox spline and check cover and release bearing height.
- The supplied billet flywheel comes machined and ready to fit. Fit the kit as a set; do not mix this cover and disc with another flywheel.
- Inspect the fork, pivot, slave cylinder and rear main seal while the gearbox is out. See the genuine 1KD rear main seal kit.
- Bed in for 1,000 km of normal around-town driving. It is the gear changes that bed it in. No burnouts, flat changes or towing until then.
What to Expect
- Pedal: firmer than the 750, and clearly firmer than stock. Still an organic disc, so engagement stays progressive and streetable.
- Rated capacity assumes a healthy drivetrain, correct fitment and a sensible tune.
- Some setups show light gear rattle at idle with a single mass billet flywheel. Normal.
- NPC warranty excludes shudder, slip, pedal feel and harsh engagement on vehicles outside original specification, which is every vehicle this kit goes into. Fit it properly and bed it in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is it rated to?
A: 850Nm, around 500 HP at the flywheel, on a healthy drivetrain, fitted and bedded in correctly.
Q: How is it different to the 750?
A: Same 275mm organic disc and same billet flywheel. The cover is built to a higher clamp spec for us, which is what buys the extra 100Nm. Expect a firmer pedal for it.
Q: Is the flywheel included?
A: Yes. NPC billet steel flywheel, machined and ready to fit, plus release and spigot bearings.
Q: Will the pedal be heavy?
A: Firmer than the 750 and firmer than stock. Streetable, but this is not a daily-driver spec clutch; buy it because your build needs it.
Q: Is it good for towing?
A: Yes, that is half the reason it exists. Bed it in first and gear the truck properly.
Q: Do I need the braided line?
A: Recommended. It deletes the factory damper for a more direct pedal.
