Early 1KD Only | 2005 to 08/2006 Rails With a Mechanical Relief Valve | Hilux N70
Replaces the factory mechanical relief valve on the early 1KD fuel rail so the rail holds commanded pressure under load instead of bleeding off. On a tuned early 1KD the relief valve is the part that caps rail pressure and drops it under load, and no amount of calibration fixes that with the valve still in the rail. Early rails only: from 08/2006 Toyota moved to electronic pressure control and those rails do not take this part.

- Removes the mechanical relief valve, so there is no crack-open point below the ECU's target

What's in the Box
- 1 x MCR 1KD rail blank, Denso rail thread
Machined and threaded in house by MCR in Thailand and black coated. Use a suitable thread sealant, clean the seat and torque to specification.
Fitting Notes
- Direct replacement for the factory rail relief valve. Clean the seat, fit with thread sealant, torque to specification, prime and leak check.
- Monitor commanded versus actual rail pressure with a scan tool during testing.
- Tune required so the ECU manages rail pressure with sensible targets and limits.
- Make sure the pump, lines and injectors are in good condition before fitting.
Safety and Compliance
Removing the mechanical relief deletes a factory over-pressure path. Incorrect tuning or a hardware fault can damage injectors, pump or rail. For off-road and competition use where permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does this fit all 1KD engines?
A: No. Early 1KD rails from 2005 to 08/2006 with a mechanical relief valve only. Later 1KD rails use electronic pressure control and do not take this part.
Q: Do I need a tune?
A: Yes. Once the mechanical relief is gone the ECU is the only thing managing rail pressure, so the calibration needs sensible rail targets and limits.
Q: Will it trigger a fault code?
A: It can if actual rail pressure deviates from target. A correct tune resolves this.
Q: Is it safe for daily use?
A: With a sensible tune and a healthy fuel system it is a common upgrade on a tuned early 1KD. Removing the mechanical relief deletes a factory over-pressure path, so a hardware fault can push pressure higher than stock. Off-road and competition use where permitted.
Q: Is there one for my 4JJ1 or Navara?
