Front-mount intercooler required. This manifold does not suit a factory top-mount setup, and some intercooler piping modification is normally needed to meet the 3 inch inlet. If you are still running the top-mount, this is not your part yet.

All four are 3 inch and all four need a front-mount intercooler. The install work is the same in every case. What changes is the finish and the body. If you are not sure which one suits your bay, send us a photo of your engine and intercooler piping and we will tell you.

• HPD 1KD intake manifold, black finish. One manifold.

The 1/8 BSP fitting and 3 mm silicone hose for the MAP sensor relocation, the EGR delete kit and any intercooler piping are all required for the job and are not part of this listing.

• ECU remap, required. The tune has to remove the EGR sensors, throttle body and swirl flaps. Fit it without the remap and you get fault codes and limp mode.
• 1KD EGR delete kit, required. This manifold has no EGR provision, so the EGR hardware has to come out and be blanked properly. Use the HPD 1KD EGR Delete Kit.
• MAP sensor relocation. Needs a 1/8 BSP fitting and 3 mm silicone hose.
• Fuel lines reshaped. The lines have to be reshaped to clear the manifold. This is careful work on high pressure lines.
• Intercooler piping. Expect to modify your existing FMIC piping to suit the 3 inch inlet.

This is not a 5 minute bolt-on. It is a fabrication and tuning job. Attention to detail and a proper tune are what make the difference between a good result and a ute stuck on the hoist. Professional installation is recommended.

This manifold removes emissions hardware and requires an ECU remap. It is recommended for off-road and motorsport use, and it is generally not legal on a road-registered vehicle in Australia. Compliance is your call and your responsibility, so check your state's requirements before you buy.

Q: Will it fit my top-mount 1KD?

A: No. A front-mount intercooler is required. That is the first thing to sort out.

Q: Do I really need a tune?

A: Yes. The throttle body, EGR sensors and swirl flaps all come out, so the ECU needs a calibration to match. There is no version of this job where you skip it.

Q: Do I need the EGR delete kit as well?

A: Yes. The manifold has no EGR provision, so the EGR hardware has to be deleted and blanked. The kit is linked above.

Q: What is the difference between this and the lobster manifolds?

A: Finish and body. This one is black. The lobster manifolds use a segmented lobster-cut radius and come either in seven standard colours or custom powder coated. All of them are 3 inch and all of them need a front-mount intercooler.

Q: Can I fit it myself?

A: Only if you are comfortable reshaping high pressure fuel lines and organising the tune. Most customers use a workshop that knows 1KD builds.
